I'm surprised that I've actually found a smidgeon of time to write to you all. This week has been so hectic, as will next week. It makes me shudder just thinking of what we have due in a few days.
But let's not dawdle on that! I've got more interesting news than why I'm feeling a bit glum today…

JUST LOOK AT THESE RADIANT SUNSHINES:
Checking everyday after school to see how much they've grown gives me just a bit of happiness after a long, strenuous day. (P.S. I've double checked, and they're definitely zinnias.)
What makes me even happier is the second little sprout who decided to drop in (also a zinnia). Just look how bright and jolly it is!

It turns out, my other plants weren't growing because of a mistake of my own doing- I buried the seeds just a tad too far into the soil, and they weren't able to push through the surface. I've loosened the soil and brought them a little higher above, so hopefully, that'll help them sprout.
Even after all this, there's still something that put me in good spirits- my dad came home today! He was in Texas for a week to go to a conference, and I spent the whole time missing him terribly. My mom, sister, and I went straight from school to the airport to pick him up, and ended up having to circle the airport for a whole twenty minutes because the policeman wouldn't let us wait on the curb.
Ugh.
But aside from that, I was overjoyed to see him again! That little moment made my whole day.
As a bonus, look what my dad brought home with him:

They look absolutely beautiful; I can't wait to plant them (and actually do it right)!
In the midst of all this, I haven't done any crocheting, but I've been itching to get my hands on my WIP. Hopefully I'll have time to do so this weekend (THANK YOU, CONFERENCE DAY, FOR EXISTING).
Enjoy your three-day break!
Serene :)
